The Evolution of Web Desing:  How People Viewed the web and How They Built Web Sites with that View.

There are many sources for learning about the history of the Internet from the Internet Society at http://www.isoc.org/internet/history/ and predictions about its future from Elon University at http://www.imaginingtheinternet.org/.

The World Wide Web, developed by Tim Berners-Lee in 1989, revolutionized our entire culture and popularized the Internet.
